Why is Johnnie Walker Black Label so popular worldwide?

I don't get it whats the difference between Black label and crown royal that's half the price of it??? Is it healthier for you??? Why do people buy these over price whiskeys?|||Johnnie Walker Black is aged 12 years. It is a mediocre and slightly overpriced BLENDED scotch whiskey. I say "blended" because it's a mix of several casks to create a uniformed flavor for worldwide distribution so all the "black labels" taste the same more or less, mixing in poor quality and good quality whiskeys.

I consider JWB a bottom-of-the-barrel scotch. JW-Red is intolerable and an insult.

I understand your confusion. Try buying some (at least) 18 year old (or older please) scotch at a bar (costly). Sip it slowly with NO ice by licking it off your lips. You'll taste subtleties of caramel and chocolate or vanilla.

Another reason is pricier whiskey (that's usually aged longer) doesn't have what's called "heat" or that alcoholly burn and is more smooth (like a Wurther's Candy).

Good luck on your scotch adventures.
