Should you keep Johnnie Walker Black refregirated?

Also, should you serve it on the rocks? Or are both just a matter of preference. I like my drinks cold.|||It's not necessary, or even advisable. The problem with storing any type of liquor in the fridge is the light. Every time you open the fridge, the light comes on. You really want to store alcohol in a cool, dry, DARK place. Light, particularly sunlight, breaks down the alcohol %26amp; makes it taste bad. A similar thing happens with beer. "Skunky" beer isn't because of temperature, it is because it was exposed to light too long. That's why beer in brown bottles or cans stays fresher longer than beer in clear or green bottles.

Also serving JW Black on the rocks, really is a preference. Like someone else wrote, the ice will chill the drink. The other thing ice will do is it will dilute the drink as it melts (unless you slam it). Some people enjoy this effect, some like it without any junk in it. It's all a matter of personal taste. Hope this helps.|||It's your scotch, drink it how you like it, but traditionally, no.

The flavor is going to be muted the colder it gets. With black, I'm usually reaching for ice as well. It's not such a rare or unique scotch that drinking it neat is mandatory.

The only spirit that I refrigerate at all is vodka, and then only sometimes. I keep the Stoli at room temperature, but I've got the good Polish potato vodka in the freezer.|||No, the only Johnnie Walker suggested to be stored cold is Gold.. and they suggest the freezer for it.

All whisky is best stored in a cool (not cold) dark place.|||it is not necessary to refrigerate it

if you are serving on the rocks, you already have the 'cold'
